18 (Comfort)

She breathes out cold air, and her chest hurts. The girl laughs at herself for getting dragged out tonight to have a stolen moment with me surrounded by the snow. She wants us to get bitten by the winter. She notices me counting the teeth in her smile and hides the rest behind rosy lips getting coldly kissed by the air. Shyly, she shows me her snow angels on the front lawn and gets embarrassed as my words tease her about the subtle redundancy. Sharp winds blowing to the east get her mad at me for bringing her into the cold, but she will only have to spend a few minutes in the frost. Sprinkles of water glimmer in her hair, but she won't run back inside.
